Getting Organized.

If you will recall the thing that triggered my "Give-Away" game was that I was organizing and RE-organizing my scrap supplies and finding lots I don't want any longer.
I thought I would share some of my organization with you, because if your anything like me you always want to know....how do other's organize their supplies!!!????? Don't worry, plenty more give-aways are coming....

My scrap area is part of my laundry room (approximately 5 1/2ft wide and 8ft long) plus I have a large cabinet in my garage that houses many supplies. I had to take into consideration the size of my space when I was organizing my supplies. Plus, I attend crops so I wanted my supplies to be easily transported, but still easily accessible while scrapping at home.

I'll start with MAGAZINES..............I have subscriptions to CK, Scrapbooks Ect., Memory Makers and Simple Scrapbooks, not to mention the numerous others I purchase from time to time. I had a hard time throwing them out and my stacks and piles were getting OUT OF CONTROL!!!! Here is a break down of what I do with them now.....

1. After I have read through each mag that arrives I go through again and tear out the pages I like. I tear out LO's, sketches, techniques, color combo's that catch my eye and page topic ideas. When I'm done I THROW IT OUT!!!

2. In a 2" binder I have sheet protectors with the following headings:

*number of photos on the page (1-15+photos; each has it's own sheet protectors)
*Page Ideas
*Techniques
*Color Combos
*Sketches
I sort the pages into their appropriate sheet protector.

3. In the evenings I pull out the binder and start cutting the pages up. I'll cut out around the lo's, simply getting rid of all the excess. After I cut it out it goes back in the binder in it's appropriate sheet protector.

4. Once I have all the items I want cut out, I start glueing them into my "Idea Book". This book is a digital post-bound photo album that I removed the post from and reessembled it with O-rings. It has the exact same catagories as the binder.
I'll share more of my organization over the next few weeks......

Happy Halloween......a couple days past due! LOL!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!!
We had great fun trick-or-Treating with the cousins (Elizabeth, Mason, Teddy & Carson) and got soooooo much candy we have sent a few bags to Uncle Ted's shop; his employees will be happy!!

This year we had Jango Fett, a cheerleader, a Hello Kitty fairy and a 50's girl, although come trick-or-treat time Tyler decided to be an army guy like his cousins Teddy and Mason.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!!!

At 11:09am Emily officially turned 3yrs old!! Where have the last 3 years gone!!!?? We celebrated on Thursday night because Steve wouldn't be here today to celebrate. Olivia, Amelia and I baked her a cake and after she blew out her candles and after I had taken her pic with her cake she looked up at Steve and said, while holding tightly to the cake pan, "Can I have a spoon?" Too cute!!!!

Pick of the Patch

Amelia and Emily had their preschool field trip to Adobe Pumpkin Farm last week. They enjoyed it alot although Emily had a rough time out in the "patch" due to her VERY sensitive nose. She kept complaining about the smell and saying "The dirt will make me throw up!!" She was much happier once we were out of the field.

Catching up.....

We are now nearly 2 months into school and Livie LOVES it!!! She has made several friends and we no longer have issues getting her to go!! She especially loves being the "Star Student" because "Glowy Coconut" the moose gets to come home with her.

Hunting season began in mid August and this saturday, Oct 20th is opening day for duck season. Why am I telling you this............it means I get to scrap VERY LITTLE!!!!! I do have to say Steve is very good about balancing his hunting with me scrapping, but with him gone so frequently during the week, getting to crops is hard if not completely impossible. Atleast he already knows he won't be hunting the first weekend of December!!!!!! He will be taking Tyler as often as he can this season. The girls have no interested what-so-ever in going. Here are some pics of Tyler's first dove hunting trip with Steve and Grandpa in September. He had a GREAT time and couldn't stop talking about it.

Second day of school..............What a "lovely" day.

Bedtime last night should have been an indication of how things were going to go today! Olivia REFUSED to get her stuff ready for school saying "I am NOT (this word said screaming) going back to school!" Lovely I thought. Things are going to go just "great!"

I get up at 6:45, shower and dress. 7:00am I start getting the kids up, She refuses to get out of bed.......I have to carry her to the dinning table to eat....which she refuses to do. Lovely I though.

8:00am we start walking to school. (a 7-8minute walk at most). We get have way there and she refuses to walk. Steve has to carry her. Lovely I thought.

8:10 we arrive at school. She refuses to hang her backpack up on the hook out side her class. I hang it....Lovely I thought.

8:15 the bell rings and she not only refuses to line-up, but starts SCREAMING....Lovely I thought.

8:17 she WILL NOT let go of me.......Her teacher and I are physically having to PEEL her off me. Lovely I thought.

8:18 I say goodbye, turn my back and leave the playground. Oh, but not before no less than 6 mothers say "I'm so sorry." Lovely I thought.

8:19 Emily starts screaming she wants Livie. Lovely I thought.

11:35 Back to school to pick-up. Kids come out and Tyler says "Mommy the teacher wants to talk to you." Lovely I thought.

11:40 "An hour and a half!" the teacher says to me as I approach. Lovely I thought.

Well, back to school on Monday....................Lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!

First day of KINDERGARTEN!!

YIKES!!! I can't believe I have two kindergartners!!!! Today was their first day, and aside from a few tears from ME, they LOVED it!!!! They can't wait to go back! They each made a new friend which I am so thankful for. I was really worried about them starting at a new school and not knowing anyone. What's really neat for them is that they are in the exact same classroom both Steve and I had when we were in kindergarten. It's weird going back into the classroom as an adult.....it seemed SOOO much bigger when I was 5!!!

Last Day of Preschool!

Today was Tyler & Olivia's last day of preschool! They start kindergarten on the 23rd.!! I can't believe it!! My babies are growing up so fast!!

Here are pics of them with their two favorite teachers "little Lori" and "Tall Laurie".

These are two of the most special ladies and I know Tyler and Olivia will miss them alot.

I'm still here!!!

I haven't posted in a looong time due to my computer CRASHING and loosing nearly two months worth of photos!!! :-( Luckily the pictures were of nothing major like a birthday or holiday, well except Mother's Day.
I went to Arizona for a week the end of May because my Grandfather passed away unexpectedly follow complications from lung cancer surgery. The week was both awful and great all at the same time. Awful because of my Grandpa being so sick, but great because it was the first time EVER my entire family (aunts, uncles, cousins) were all together for more than a day or two. We spent 7 whole days together! Some of you may cringe at the thought of spending 7 days with family, but my family all get along really well. There are a few who argue more than others, but it's dealable. The week was spent, crying and laughing. I honestly have not laughed so hard in a long time, nor have I cried so hard. Atleast not since my stepdad passed away in 2002.

Here are some pictures that were taken during the coarse of my 7 days in Arizona.
A memorial board my cousin and I put together for the Memorial Service.
This pictures is of most of the Aunts and cousins on our first day in AZ. Grandpa was still doing OK at this point.
This is my brother, Ted (left) and our cousin, Nick (right). Ted is 18yrs older than Nick and from the day Nick was born he and Ted have looked alike. Our Mothers are sisters and both have brown hair and browns eyes, but each eneded up with a blond blue eyed son.
This is my mom (center) with two of her younger sisters. The sister on the left is Nicks' mom.

This photo was taken the day of the Memorial Service. This is all family that flew in from out of state. The only people missing were my uncle who didn't want his picture taken, and 5 cousins who were unable to make it in for the service.

2P's POTD *Pampay*

This is my sister, affectionatly known as "Pampay." My kids love her too death!! She choose long ago never to have kids and has always been the "fun auntie." She'll show-up at our house just to come play with the kids. She said if she goes over a week not seeing them she has withdrawls! She'll take my kids, plus my two nephews and my neice for an entire weekend at her house. She and her DH move all the furniture out of their living room and set up a huge 3 room tent and they have a "Camp IN" (her yards not big enough for the tent!! LOL!!) My kids come home asking when they get to go to Pampay & uncle Dan's again!!!

Conversations with Connor

Amelia is slowly getting over her fear of Auntie Lisa's horses. Today she went right up to the gate and talked to Connor. She kept saying "Did you miss me Connor?" "I know you love me, Connor." "Good Horse Connor." It was very cute! She still wont pet them, she said "Next time."
