Well, it would be useful to know a little bit about your settings if you want to get really picky! But what I notice just by looking: the background is really distracting. There's something behind her head, and things all around her that really detract from the picture. The focus would be more on your DD if she were in a different spot. You've got a pretty heavy shadow on the wall. . . are you using your flash? I'd say try to get your subject into a place with better natural light coming in next time. That way, you'll get some great catchlights in her eyes and brighten them up a little bit. I hope this is what you were looking for!!!
